Tobacco Prevention Highlights

Incorruptible.us on Capitol Hill

February 3rd -6th, 2020   Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) hosted it’s 30th National Leadership Forum in National Harbor, Maryland. Six youth leaders, part of Incorruptible.Us, and their coordinators, met with their elected representatives to advocate for their cause during CADCA’s Capitol Hill Day. Incorruptible.Us members met with Senator Robert Menendez’s office and walked with Congressman Jefferson Van Drew (NJ-02) to the Capitol Building. Both officials’ offices were pleased to hear about the work our youth are doing and their causes drew praises of support. Way to go Incorruptible.Us!

Flavors Hook Kids NJ

March 6th, 2020: Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06), along with students and public health advocates, held a press conference on the House passage of his bipartisan legislation to address the youth tobacco and vaping epidemic. The Protecting American Lungs and Reversing the Youth Tobacco Epidemic Act would prohibit all flavored tobacco products (including e-cigarettes), ban most non-face-to-face sales for tobacco products and protect kids from the predatory marketing of tobacco products. The bill, No. HR2339, now awaits Senate approval.
