TFHNJ INITIATIVE SPOTLIGHT
Point of Sale Audit Tool and Toolkit
Addressing tobacco at the point of sale matters to the health of New Jersey residents. The tobacco industry spends an estimated $153.5 million to keep their products visible and cheap in the state of NJ. Their marketing, advertising and promotion techniques prompt youth to start smoking and vaping and make it harder for those seeking to quit. The more stores that sell tobacco products located near schools, parks, playgrounds and homes in a given community contributes to higher tobacco use and poorer health outcomes.
Tobacco Free for a Healthy NJ proudly announces two resources that NJ communities can utilize to help address point of sale issues. Our Point of Sale Store Assessment tool and our Point of Sale Toolkit are now available.
