Integrated Municipal Advisory Council / Smoke free Outdoor Air

  • Local Integrated Municipal Advisory Councils (IMACs) are community-based tobacco control coalitions that focus on community mobilization and policy action.
  • IMACs are facilitated across New Jersey by Tobacco Free for a Healthy New Jersey Southern, Central and Northern regional partners.
  • The goal of each IMAC is to assist municipalities and Counties in creating ordinances that prohibit the use of tobacco products in public places.

Contact your regional partner and request an IMAC toolkit that outlines the process of creating an IMAC and the steps and tools needed to create a tobacco free outdoor air ordinance.

Contact Global Advisors on Smokefree Policy (GASP) for a free clearing house for sample ordinances, tobacco free laws, tobacco free multi-unit housing information, public speaking and education about the current laws and advocacy.
